Following the first round of recruitment for both Core Teacher Trainers (CTs) and Regional Peer Mentor-Teachers (RPMs), the English Speaking Nation: Secondary Teacher Trainers (ESN:STT) program coordinated a second rigorous recruitment drive among secondary school teachers in Uzbekistan for the first cohort of RPMs. Teams comprised of representatives from the American Councils Tashkent office, the Uzbekistan Ministry of Public Education, and the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent worked together to conduct in-person recruitment of secondary school teachers throughout all 14 regions of Uzbekistan. During these two days, the teams collected a total of 2,187 RPM applications in 13 cities and reported that the secondary school teachers were extremely excited to have the direct in-person support available in the regions.
